Roger Dale Myers, Sr., 68, of Moorefield, WV, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 8, 1955, in Keyser, WV to the late Kenneth Franklin and Gladys Sarah Knee Myers. Roger's departure has left a void in the lives of his family and friends, but his memory and legacy will continue to shine brightly. His brothers Christopher and Paul preceded him in death, and he joins them in their heavenly home.
Roger dedicated over 40 years of his life to Pilgrim's Pride, where he worked tirelessly as a truck driver in the poultry processing industry. After retiring in 2017, he found joy in his favorite pastimes - hunting, trout fishing, and watching NASCAR. Roger's mechanical skills were renowned among family and friends, and he was always the go-to guy for any automotive problem.
However, Roger's greatest passion was his family and his four-legged companions, Minnie and Lady. Spending quality time with his children and grandchildren brought him immense happiness. Whether coaching their sports teams or cheering them on from the sidelines, Roger was their biggest supporter in every aspect of their lives. His dedication and unwavering love will forever inspire those he leaves behind.
In addition to his professional achievements and cherished memories, Roger is survived by his sons Roger Dale Myers, Jr., David Allen Myers, and Travis Wade Bolyard, and daughters Lisa Ann May and Kayla Dawn Bolyard. He also leaves behind four brothers, Ray, James, John, and Kenneth, as well as two sisters, Ruth Gribble and Ruby Lewis. Roger's thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren will keep his spirit alive through their cherished memories of their beloved grandfather.
A funeral service to celebrate Roger's remarkable life will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel located at 107 Washington Street. Pastor Wade Armentrout will officiate the service, and friends and family are invited to gather and reminisce from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
Roger will forever be remembered as a hardworking, loving father, and dedicated family man. His vibrant spirit and warm heart will continue to inspire and guide us. Expressions of condolences, shared memories and cherished photographs may be left on Rogers’s Tribute Wall at www.fraleyfuneralhome.com honoring his remarkable journey and the impact he made in the lives of those he touched.
