Roger W. Painter, 69, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 3, 2024, after many years of failing health.
He was born Sunday, May 8, 1955, to the late Gary W. Painter and Lois (Deisher) Bennett in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Roger was a 1973 graduate of Martinsville High School and proudly served his country in the Indiana National Guard. He worked as a supervisor in warehousing for his entire career. It's an understatement to say Roger was a huge Purdue sports fan and loved watching Boilermaker basketball and football. He especially enjoyed Gene Keady's teams in the 80's and 90's. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and watching Nascar.
He is survived by his sons, Brian Painter and Doug Schenck (Betti); daughter, Jeanna Brown (Robert); sister, Cathy Battin (Steve); brothers Greg & David Bennett; grandchildren, Michelle, Katie, Mason, Kaila, Jacob, Tristan, Brent, Parker and Averie; great grandchildren, Natalie, Mason, Emberly, Everleigh, and two additional great grandsons on the way.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Betty J. (Skaggs) Painter who passed away May 8, 2018; parents, Gary, Lois and Bill; son, Jeff Schenck and brother, Craig Painter.
A Celebration of Life for Roger will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Costin Funeral Chapel. Please join the family to share fun stories about Roger throughout his life.
