Roger Lee Paugh, 78, of Elk Garden, WV went on to his eternal reward on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Potomac Valley Hospital, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Born on Jan 15, 1945, in Paughtown, Elk Garden, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie (Feathers) Paugh.
He was a free spirit and enjoyed the simplicity life had to offer. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan! He passed his love of Pittsburgh on to his grandsons. Many great conversations occurred over trade deals, wins, and losses. He played numerous years of men's slow pitch softball for the Paughtowners, where he was a pitcher. After he retired from the game, he could be found at the ball field any given Sunday afternoon watching the younger guys play. He loved to play basketball, corn hole, and go bowling with his grandkids and made it known quite often that they could never beat him at any sport. He was an avid squirrel hunter and had stories about his successful hunts all over Elk Garden. He loved his pets dearly. He most recently attended the Fountain Gospel Chapel in Fountain, WV.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Ahern of Elk Garden, Lisa Dale and husband Steve of Carlisle, PA, Curtis Paugh and companion Tina of Elk Garden, Susan Paugh and companion Jerry of Elk Garden, Rhea See and husband James of Burlington, Justin Paugh of Elk Garden, and Roger Paugh, Jr. and wife Misty of of Elk Garden; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Bernard "Bun" Paugh, Leon "Nat" Paugh, Russell "Bobo" Paugh, and Sherrie Lee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma (Soloman) Paugh; his brothers and best friends, Joseph "Junebug" Paugh, Warren "Ritchie" Paugh, and Glenn "Dag" Paugh; his sisters, Marie Friend, Helen Weese, and Lillian "Dusie" Henderson; and two sons in law, Daniel Ahern and Estel Ruble
Friends will be received on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 5 to 8 PM, at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller.
