Roger J. Plourde

Roger J Plourde, 84, of Milford, NH passed away peacefully on December 29th, 2022, surrounded by family after a sudden decline in health at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH.
Roger was born in Massachusetts on March 9th, 1938, the eldest son of the late George W. Plourde and Blanche (Robarge) Plourde of Dracut, MA.
His early career opportunities included driving a taxi in the greater Lowell area, working for BB Rubber Corp., becoming a skilled press operator at several regional corrugated container companies, and later was employed at Sanders and Associates in Merrimack, NH. His hobbies included listening to and collecting vinyl records, creating and painting models, reading, fishing, hunting, classic movies and playing cards. He was also an avid Red Sox fan but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Roger was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Laura A. (Donnelly) Plourde, brother Raymond Plourde of Claremont, sister Cecile (Plourde) King of Lempster, NH and brother-in-law Gerald Dunn of Dracut, MA.
He is survived by his sister Marie Dunn of Dracut, MA, brother Billy (William) Plourde and wife Marsha of Dracut, MA, brother-in-law John (James) King of Lempster, NH; his children Julie Keane and husband Thomas of Allenstown, NH, Mark Plourde and husband Bruce Fontaine of Antrim, NH, Scott Plourde of Mason, NH, Laura Carl and husband Michael of Milford, NH, Shawn Plourde and wife Jennifer of Hancock, NH, James Plourde and wife Ginni of Greenfield, NH; grandchildren Nichole Fryou, Michelle Macone, Heather Vivalta, Amanda Alphonse, Christopher Plourde, John W. Plourde, Madelynn Plourde, Todd Plourde, Nicholas Carl, Mollie Wessells, John D. Plourde, Emma Johnson and Callie Plourde and 16 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Calling hours are on Thursday, January 5th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 6th at 11:00 am in St. Patrick's Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Newport, NH, at a later date.
