Yolande Plourde, 94, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of quiet love, strong faith, and deep devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand “Pit” Plourde.
Yolande was born on June 26, 1931, in Canada, to the late Emile and Ida (Cyr) Clavet.
Family was most important to Yolande. She truly enjoyed spending time with them and making everyone laugh with her “little French accent.” She treated and loved everyone like family. She enjoyed quilting. Each quilt was one-of-a-kind, made with love and gifted to those she treasured most. Yolande was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. She worked at the Aqua Turf for over 10 years, where she had made many friends before officially retiring at the age of 89.
Yolande is survived by her son, Roger Plourde of AZ and daughter, Pauline Chamberland (Guy) of Wolcott, grandchildren; Shanon Grosso (Nick), Adam Chamberland, Kaitlyn Veilleux (Erik), and Amanda Godlewsky (Joe) and one brother, Roland Clavet (Germaine). She was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Joseph Dunne, Joshua Dunne, and Alexis Grosso. Yolande also lovingly leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Armand, Yolande was predeceased by her siblings Thaddee, Adrian, Conrad, Gilles, and sisters Leann, Jeannine, Madeleine, and Claudette.
Yolande's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her nieces, Joanne Collins and Gabrielle Fusco for their care and companionship, especially over the last several weeks and to the infusion nurses for their attentive and compassionate care over the past six years.
