Roger William Robertson, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the age of 77. Born on September 5, 1948, in Pembroke, Virginia.

Roger served his country as a member of the United States Army from June 1966 until August 1968. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career as an insulation contractor and lead foreman, a role he held from the early 1970s until his retirement in 2012.

In September of 1994, Roger married Janice in their hometown of Pembroke, Virginia. Together, they shared 31 years of marriage until her passing. Roger was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Thornton Robertson, and his siblings, Jimmy, Felix (Skeeter), Jack, Wimpy, and Fern.

Roger's life was enriched by his many interests, including coon hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and a deep appreciation for bluegrass music. These hobbies brought him joy.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bill Hoyle, and his son, Joey Robertson. Roger was a second father to Troy Robertson, Travis Robertson and fiancée Sandy Parrish, and Chris Robertson and wife Sharon. He leaves behind three granddaughters, Tayler Bess, Kaitlyn Robertson, and Cassie Hoyle, as well as two grandsons, Christopher "CJ" Robertson Jr. and Tyler Robertson. Roger was also leaves behind a great-grandson, Theodore "Theo" Bess.
