Roger Rosinski Obituary
Beverly, MA - Roger Rosinski, 80, of Beverly, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025.
He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Fritz and Margaret Rosinski, and grew up in Claremont, New Hampshire. He attended Stevens High School, where he played several sports and excelled in football. He went on to attend Cushing Academy and then Boston University, where he played fullback and lettered 3 years on the football team and participated in the ROTC program. After graduating from BU, he served as a Second Lieutenant in the Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam era, regularly assigned to the DMZ. During his service, he played on the Division football team and became an avid bridge player.
Following his military service, Mr. Rosinski moved to Beverly, where he taught physical education and coached football for more than 30 years. He served as an assistant coach until 1990, when he was appointed head coach. During this time, he also earned his Master's in Education from Salem State. His coaching style emphasized discipline and technical execution. During his 11 years as head coach, the Panthers recorded 7 winning seasons, highlighted by the 1998 team that went 9–1 and won the 100th Beverly–Salem Thanksgiving Day game. He left Beverly High School after the 2000 season and later coached at Salem High School and Malden Catholic High School. He was inducted into the Beverly High School Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Massachusetts State Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Fritz, and his sister, Frances. He is survived by his brother John Rosinski and his sister-in-law Elaine; his nieces, Jennifer Rosinski and Kate Shea; his nephews, Christopher Rosinski and Patrick Shea; and his longtime partner, Judy Nicholson.
Visiting Hours will be at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Saturday, November 15th from 10am to 1pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Roger's memory to Beverly Bootstraps, Beverly Football Boosters, or the American Cancer Society. In memory of a Beverly High School Hall of Fame coach who loved BHS and their football team. His name is Roger Rosinski, and he will be missed by those who knew and loved him. My stepmom is Judy Nicholson, and she was his longterm partner. I recall one time when Roger talked with my son during a particulary difficult period in his life and passed on some of his wisdom, and complimented my son which was very pivotal during thst time. I am so sorry that he left us too soon.

Coach Rosinski was a natural leader of men, but he was more than that. He would mentor or coach students with everyday problems. He was a father figure and mentor to me. He will be missed.
