It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Dale (RD) Sigmon II, a cherished member of the Charleston community. He bravely fought his way through life before losing his battle to a short illness while surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, October 30, 2023. At 45, Roger leaves a legacy of love, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to his family. A proud father of five amazing young men and a grandfather to two adorable grandsons, Roger's love for his family was boundless. A true sports enthusiast, Roger's passion knew no bounds. Whether it was football, basketball, NASCAR, dirt track racing, or lacrosse, his enjoyment and knowledge of the game were infectious. He found joy in spending time at the card shop, supporting small businesses and young athletes, engaging in discussions about sports, and reminiscing with friends. He loved music. Roger was a devoted family man who poured his heart into every moment he shared with his loved ones. His love extended beyond blood ties; Roger was a friend to all, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. To know Roger was not just to meet a person, it was to form a connection that endured. As we mourn the loss of a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, let us remember Roger for the warmth he brought into our lives and the lasting mark he left on our hearts. Rest in peace, Roger. You will be dearly missed, but your spirit will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known you. Roger is preceded in death by Sharon Breeden (aunt), Grace McMillion (grandma), Clement (Ickybob), Sigmon (grandpa), and Andy Skeen (grandpa). Roger is survived by his children: Dakota Sigmon (Aliyah), Daelyn Kinder, Jayce Sigmon, Davyn Sigmon, and Julian Sigmon. Grandchildren: Weston and Dallas Sigmon. Parents: Kim Skeen (Clinton) and Roger Sigmon. Siblings: Brandi Miller (Jason), Summer Sharpe (Chris), Adam Skeen, Matthew Skeen (Tori), and Alyssa Sigmon. Nieces and Nephews: Allison and Savanna Miller; Makenzie, Jordan, and Chase Sharpe. Grandmothers: Patricia Sigmon, Vicky Sigmon, and Yvonne Skeen. Plus, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to Roger's dialysis nurses, whom he often referred to as his "baby sisters" and loved dearly. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissionville, WV, with Dave Bishop officiating. Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
