Roger D. Singer, 93, born in Bethlehem November 1928, passed away September 5, 2022, at home with caring family by his side.
He had seen his family, one by one, Mother, Father, Brothers and Sisters pass from view but still marched on unafraid, sharing with others the joys, success and stories of his life. The son of John D and Nora Singer, he was the 5th of 6 children, all proceeding him in death. In the year 1951 he was united in marriage to Frances Ruth Moreland. And to this union were children, Sheila Priddy and Nancy Dodds. He is also survived by son in-law Jimmy Dodds, grandchildren Matthew John Dodds and Tyler David Priddy, and great-grandchildren, Juniper and Jasper Dodds. A special thank you to his caregivers, Linda W, Vanessa S, and Victoria H.
Roger was a Veteran of the Army, stationed in Washington State during the Korean War.
He retired from the Jeffersonville Police Department in 1978 as Assistant Police Chief. Then retired from Clark Memorial Hospital in 1994 as Chief of Security.
His hobbies of past years were fishing and hunting. Roger was a Charter member of Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 100 and past President. And Grand Marshall at the Parade in Bethlehem during Autumn on the River 2011.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances and brothers, Dallas, Gilbert and Ray. Also, sisters Dorothy Newman and Leona Burton. Brothers in-law Harry Newman and Glen Burton, Sisters in-law Delma, Mabel and Harriett, Son in-law David Priddy, 9 Nephews and 2 Nieces.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home with a private burial to follow. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 4-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service both at the Funeral Home.
