In Loving Memory
Roger Boyd Sippey
Roger Boyd Sippey of
Naples, FL passed away on Thursday April 17, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Roger was born in Zanesville, OH on February 6, 1942, the son of Ruth Sparling and Walter Sippey. He was an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the God and Country award. He graduated from The Kiski School in Saltsburg, PA (1960) and Muskingum College in New Concord, OH (1964).
While at Muskingum, he met and fell in love with Janet Hoehn, and they married in 1965. They were married for 59 years, and raised four children together: Michael, Nancy, Jason and Margaret (Meg). Roger, Janet and their kids lived in Alexandria, VA, Wallingford, PA, Hinsdale, IL, Clayton, MO, Wallingford (again), Grosse Pointe Park, MI, and Chicago, IL. They made many wonderful, life-long friends at every stop. Roger was a loving father-in-law to Laura Condenanza, Steve Denenberg, and Katrina Traywick, and took great joy in watching his children raise their own families. He was "Pepa" to seven grandchildren: Jane, Charlie, Drew, Kate, Caroline, Emma and Pippa.
In 1968 Roger joined Feralloy Corporation, then a small, privately-owned steel company. He helped build Feralloy into one of the largest volume flat-rolled steel service centers in North America, and retired as its President and CEO in 2010. While at Feralloy he was the General Manager of Feralloy St. Louis, Feralloy California, Feralloy Wilmington, Feralloy Detroit, and SVP and Chairman of all of their joint ventures. After retiring from Feralloy he co-founded Logic Capital Partners with his son, Jason. He was a graduate of Greater Naples Leadership, and was a mentor and guide to many young leaders.
Roger was an incredible friend, and was always in touch with the people he loved. He was an avid, though very average golfer, playing with his regular group of buddies in Naples at The Vineyards. He spent his summers golfing, boating, fishing and hiking with his wife and family near their cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He had a passion for classic cars, loved watching sports with his kids and grandkids, attended concerts of all genres, and was an active reader and sharer of the latest biographies and business books. He ran a marathon in the California redwoods, sailed and boated every corner of Lake Michigan, biked hundreds of miles through the Missouri and Pennsylvania countryside, and rode his motorcycle up and over the continental divide.
The family will be hosting a private celebration of Rogers remarkable life at their home in Naples. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee, Florida (https://guadalupecenter.org), an organization that Roger and his wife Janet have supported for years. And, when youre so inclined, please buy an adult beverage of your choice for a friend, and raise a glass to the force of nature weve lost.
