Roger Earl Terry, age 55, of
Pampa, Texas, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 1, 2025, in Amarillo, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on June 30, 1970, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Margaret Terry, Roger's journey through life was marked by laughter, resilience, and an immense love for those close to him.
Roger grew up in Oklahoma and attended Marietta High School, laying the foundation for a life filled with meaningful relationships. While working together, he met Christy Belflower, who, after a blossoming friendship and overcoming personal challenges, asked Roger out. Their love story continued, and a year later, they were married on August 19, 1995, in Skellytown, Texas. Having celebrated their 30th anniversary with a memorable cruise to the Bahamas, Roger cherished moments by the ocean and the beaches of Galveston-some of his very favorite places.
A man of simple pleasures, Roger delighted in camping trips with his family, thrilling muddin' adventures in his old blazer, and watching wrestling-especially his favorite, Sting. He reveled in wild escapades with his children on dirt bikes, four wheelers and go carts, filling their lives with joy and laughter. Those who knew Roger remember him as a prankster and a source of endless fun, always ready with a stunt or a smile.
Roger's passion for OU Football was well-known, but it was surpassed only by the deep love he held for his wife, children, and grandchildren. His spirit was indomitable, and throughout his battle with cancer, he exemplified strength and endurance, declaring he was "tired of fighting, but he was not gonna give up!"
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret Terry; his beloved son, Richard Matthew "Matt" Terry; and his brother-in-law, Ricky Gunsolus.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his cherished family: his wife, Christy Terry of Pampa; three sons, Christopher Terry and wife Allyson of Pampa, Dalton Terry of Alva, OK, and Lukas Terry of Pampa; two daughters, Shaleigh Terry and fiancé Ricky Rosa of Waynoka, OK, and Shyanne Terry and fiancé Alex Russell of Abilene; four brothers, William Terry and wife Sheila of Pampa, Richard Thomas of Stillwater, OK, Wayne Terry and wife Glenda of Duncan, OK, and Larry Terry of Pampa; two sisters, Betty Gunsolus and husband Jerry of Velma, OK, and Tammie Gunsolus of Duncan, OK; six grandchildren-Araya, Nico, Lucious, Phoenix, Scarlett, Rayleigh-and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever treasure memories of his infectious smile and laughter.
Roger Earl Terry will be remembered for his boundless energy, generous heart, and the laughter he brought to every life he touched. His legacy lives on in those who loved him dearly.
