Roger Allen Tuorila, a beloved husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at his home in rural Sebeka, MN, surrounded by family. He was born to Hazel and Eino Tuorila on September 3, 1953 and was a life-long member of the Sebeka community. Roger graduated from Sebeka High School in 1971. He dedicated his working life to a variety of companies throughout Minnesota. He most recently worked for and retired from Mason Brothers Wholesale Grocery in Wadena, MN.
On August 4, 1973, Roger married his high school sweetheart, Vicky Frahm. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, and were blessed with two children, Tanya and Trevor. His legacy also lives on in his grandchildren, Shelby, Garrett, and Emily, and great grandchildren, Aubrey and Sylvie.
Roger was an avid hunter. He found peace in the solace of his deer stand. He was a Jack of all trades, with the ability to fix almost anything. With the help of his wife, and various assistants, he put his skills to work when building their home. Each of his family members will remember him fondly for his boisterous laughter, warm, strong hugs, his gift for gab, love of food, willingness to help on projects, and endless humor.
Preceding Roger in death are his parents Eino and Hazel; sisters Arlene and Annette (Loren) Haedtke, brothers Kenny, Marvin, Raymond, and Michael; and brother-in-law Roland Savela. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife Vicky; his children, Tanya (Ted) Kern, Trevor (Heidi) Tuorila; his three grandchildren, Shelby (Derek) Soupir, Garrett Kern, Emily (Arthur) Finzen; two great grandchildren, Aubrey Soupir and Sylvie Finzen; sisters Shirley Savela and Carole Jean (Debbie) Tuorila and brother Charlie Tuorila; sisters-in-law Carol Tuorila, Nancy Tuorila, Pat Tuorila, Julie Tuorila, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
