Roger Don Van Dyke, age 89 of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 13, 2025. Roger was born on August 25, 1935 in Holland to Dan and Dorothy (Lamberts) Van Dyke. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. On June 8, 1974, Roger married the love of his life, Zita Pohler.
Roger loved the outdoors. He could often be found fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, travelling or out camping. He was an avid reader and loved playing the harmonica. Most important to Roger was his loving family – he adored spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his dear wife of 51 years, Zita; children: Rick (Mary) Miedema, Rol (Terri) Miedema, Renee (Daryl) Hop, Rhonda (Robert) Schruer, Rodney Miedema (Damir Jukic); 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren with two more on the way; sisters-in-law: Marge Van Dyke, Audrey Van Dyke; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his eight siblings: Alice (Bernie) Dewys, Alvin Van Dyke, Joan Botsis, Lorraine (Frank) Wicks, Marian Kortman, Ken Van Dyke, Lois Plaggemars, Pauline Jousma.
Relatives and friends may meet with Roger's family on Friday, August 15 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Zutphen Christian Reformed Church where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 1:00 PM. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mission India.
