1952 - 2024
Roger Michael Vogel; Age 72 of Warren, Michigan passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
He was born on July 16, 1952 to Martin and Dolores Vogel (nee: Schrock) in Detroit, Michigan. He was a retired Captain with the City of Warren Firefighters.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Roger's life Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 1 - 6 PM at FOP #124, 11304 E. 14 Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48093.
Roger spent his formative years in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and attended Lakeview High School. Shortly following graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force. In 1977, he became a driver for the Fire Department at Selfridge Air Force Base. In June of 1984, he transferred to the Warren Fire Department. He rose in ranks over the years and retired in 2010 as a Captain in Warren, Michigan.
In his free time, he loved to ride his motorcycle and was a member of the GreatLakes Harley Owners Group. Roger loved golf and like to camp in the summer.
Survived by his wife, Cheryl (nee: Lennon) whom he married July 15, 2000, in Ogemaw County, Michigan and daughter, Michelle, step-son, Ron (Wendy) Snarski, and his cherished grandson, Xander Snarski. Roger is also survived by a brother, Brian (Colleen) Vogel, Sister-in-Law, Noreen Vogel and many Nieces and Nephews. His parents and Brother, Richard Vogel, predeceased him and we pray that they are now together again.
