William George Swanson; Age 95 of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. Passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
He was born on February 7, 1930 to John and Margaret Swanson (nee: Campion) in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. William worked as a Optician. On April 4, 1953 he married Lois Ann Lutz in Detroit, Michigan and were married for 72 years. William proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal and was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal prior to being honorably discharged on July 30, 1955. Following retirement he and his wife wintered in North Ft. Myers, Florida.
William is survived by Wife, Lois "Ann" Swanson (nee: Lutz) and 3 sons, William (Nancy) Swanson, Robert (Michelle) Swanson and Timothy (Shari) Swanson. Proud grandfather of 8 and 11 great grandchildren.
William Swanson's life will be celebrated beginning with U.S. Air Force military honors on Friday, September 26, 2025, 10:30 am at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. He will be placed in a columbarium following the cemetery services and his family will host a reception afterwards.
