Roland Ellis LaFave

December 9, 1944 – October 3, 2025

Age 80

Roland Ellis LaFave, of Holden Beach Supply, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025. He was born on December 9, 1944, in Pinconning, Michigan, to the late Louis Joseph LaFave and Hazel Fern LaFave.

Roland graduated from Pinconning High School in 1963 before proudly serving his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Following his service, he worked as a welder, pipe fitter, and parking deck contractor for Tindall Corporation, where his strong work ethic and dedication earned him great respect. He retired after a long and fulfilling career.

Roland was married first to Martha LaFave of Indian Trail, NC, and later to his second wife, Judy Crosby LaFave of Cowpens, SC.

A man of many passions, Roland loved hunting and fishing and spent many years as a skilled boat captain. He found joy in tending to his garden, and taking pride in his home. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, especially enjoying life by the beach he loved so much.

Roland will be remembered for his kindness, respect toward others, unwavering work ethic, and his relationship with Christ, which guided him throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, Louis Kirt LaFave (Kim); his granddaughter, Laura Ashley LaFave; his sister, Mary Lou Ori (Joseph); and many dear friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his daughter, Salle Fern LaFave, and his brother, Louis LaFave.

Roland will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
