Lyle Joseph “Joe” LaFave Jr., age 39, of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away on August 12, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Fayette County, TN, and was a graduate of Rosemark Academy and William Carey College. Joe proudly served in the United States Navy as a Master-at-Arms (MA3), E6, completing three tours of duty. Following his military service, he worked in cryogenics as a welder.

Joe was an Eagle Scout, having also participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was also a member of Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church.

He loved drag racing, working on cars, reading books, and especially enjoyed spending time with family at gatherings.

Joe was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Rebecca Barkley. 

He is survived by his parents, Lyle J. LaFave and Beth Thomas; his sisters, Camille (Steven) Wright and Samantha Ross (Corey Williams); and three nieces, Nikki Kidd, Caroline Wright, and Katherine Williams.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Please reach out to the family for details.
