Roland Adis "Ronnie" Leach, 101 ½ and lifelong resident of Jamestown, passed away on April 16, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton. Ronnie was born October 23, 1923, as the only child to Norman and Reva (Huston) Leach. Ronnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise (Schultz) whom he married August 5, 1944, and his nephew Dave Reynolds. Ronnie is survived by his sons and their wives, Kent and Julie of Jamestown and Dan and Robin of Port Charlotte, Florida, grandchildren Zachary (Sharron) Leach, Annie (Thomas) Varvel all of Jamestown, Andrew (Miranda) Leach and Ross Leach of Florida, great-grandchildren Jayden (Rose) Sagers and Logan Sagers, of Jamestown, Katie Leach, of Destin Florida, Julia, and Jacob Leach, Elizabeth Varvel and one great-great grandson Waylon Sagers, all of Jamestown and his niece Norma Jean Doughty of Washington C.H. and her family. Ronnie graduated from Silvercreek High School in 1941 and proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Never known to shy away from hard work Ronnie retired from NCR in 1978 but continued to work various jobs throughout the years including Rike's, Jordan's Super Valu, Powers Funeral Home and Walmart. Prior to his work at NCR, Ronnie worked as a farmer around Jamestown and with Louise by his side built a strong foundation which enabled his boys to make cherished memories of farm life and learn the value of hard work. Ronnie maintained an incredible memory until the very end and loved to tell stories about his childhood especially how his parents did not own an automobile when he was born. Their only transportation was a horse and buggy. Ronnie was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ and Grape Grove Church of Christ and found great comfort in his faith. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Jamestown Health and Rehab for the care given to Ronnie. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Powers-Kell Funeral Home, Jamestown. Burial will follow in Silver Creek New Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
