Rolando Ventura Alberto, 19, of Thomasville, North Carolina, tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Born in Los Angeles, California, on June 23, 2005, Rolando was the beloved son of Jose Ventura Gomez and Olga Gladis Alberto. Rolando had a deep passion for soccer and proudly supported his favorite teams, F.C. Barcelona and C.D. Águila. He was also a true food lover-especially fond of corndogs. Rolando had a bright and magnetic personality. He was known for his infectious laughter, his remarkable sense of humor, and a smile that could light up any room. Above all, he deeply loved his parents, his family, and his friends-they were his world. He is survived by his loving parents, Jose Ventura Gomez and Olga Gladis Alberto; his cherished girlfriend, Alisson Flores; his grandparents, Flor Martinez, Rolando Alberto, and Maria Irene Portillo Turcios; his brothers, Daniel Gomez and Liam Gomez; and his nieces and nephews, Digna Gomez, David Martinez, Camila Martinez, Mayleen Martinez, and Navayah Martinez. Also surviving are many beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, including uncles David, Ronny, and Jairo Martinez; aunts, Maritza Martinez, Lorena Mendez, Maria Lopez, Idalia Rivas, Reina Campos, Zeidy Martinez, and Ana Celia Bonilla; cousins Roxana and Tania Mendez, Krissia Wright, Manuel Sanchez, Angela Gonzales, Reinaldo Gomez, Jose Alcides Gomez, and Samuel Gomez; and best friends Ariel Vasquez and Abraham Avila. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Archdale Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service. Rolando will be laid to rest alongside family in El Salvador in the coming days.
