Romayne Sarah Van Why, 78, of Stroud Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2025 in her home. She was the wife of Ronald H. Van Why with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Born on February 28, 1947 in East Stroudsburg, she was one of six children to the late Ernest and Romayne (Curtis) Franks and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

She was a member of Stroudsburg United Methodist Church and the P.O.A. Ladies Auxiliary.

Romayne passed away leaving behind a world made brighter by her presence. An amazing soul, she was the heart of her family-a much beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. To those outside her family, she was a steadfast Friend whose loyalty and grace were unmatched. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of devotion and friendship

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Kathleen R. Brue of Kunkletown, Ronald E. Van Why and wife Jodi of Sevierville, TN, and Kevin G. Van Why and wife Laurie of East Stroudsburg; eight grandchildren, Jared Van Why of East Stroudsburg, Valerie Van Why of Kunkletown, Jaimee Hock of Indian Hills, SC, Kristi Radfar of Houston, TX, Cody McCormick of League City, TX, Kassandra Cimerol of Kunkletown, Norman Cimerol of Stroudsburg and Katherine Cimerol of Kunkletown; twelve great-grandchildren; her beloved friend, Brenda Van Why; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five siblings, Jean Wilson, James Franks, John Franks, Irene Shields and George Franks.

There will be a viewing on Monday evening, December 29th from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30th beginning at 11:00AM at the funeral home with Pastor Margie Good officiating. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial remembrances be made in Romayne's memory to the Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
