Hyde Park - Ronald R. Rotella Jr., 50, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
Born May 12, 1972, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Ronald R. Rotella Sr. and Linda D. Ellis Rotella. His mom and dad survive.
Most recently, Ron was a mechanic and bus driver for the Cedar Bus Company in Poughkeepsie. Over his years in transportation, he worked for A&E Transport, First Student, and the Hyde Park Central School District Transportation Department. Ron also had his own garage at one time, Rotella's Automotive in Pleasant Valley.
Ron's hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping and watching wrestling and NASCAR races.
On May 22, 1996, in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Tara S. Fimbel. Mrs. Rotella survives in Poughkeepsie.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ron is survived by his three children, Ronald R. Rotella III, Cheyenne LaFalce and husband, Michael LaFalce Sr., and Shawn T. Rotella, all of Poughkeepsie.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Carson Rotella, and Aria, Alessandra, and Michael LaFalce Jr.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his great-grandmother, Kathyrine Andrews, with whom he was especially close.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday, May 4th, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Friday, May 5th at The Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
