Rona Hedrick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grandstrand Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Osceola on Jan. 18, 2026.
Rona Sue Hedrick, age 59, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by loving family after a short battle with cancer. She is finally at peace.

Rona was born on December 10, 1966, in Alexandria, Louisiana, and moved to Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin at the age of three. She participated in gymnastics, cheerleading, music and forensics at Saint Croix Falls High School, where she graduated in 1985. She babysat for neighbors, helped wherever she could, and was known for her generous spirit.

Rona tended bar and served tables for more than thirty years. She was a fantastic server - authentic, fun, and believed in treating everyone right, saints and sinners alike. She befriended everyone she met, young and old. This was a skill she brought with her, working as nursing assistant and caregiver at handful of local nursing homes.

Rona was a devoted single mother to Chase (Saint Paul) and Tess (Green Bay). She was involved, supportive, and present - not just for her kids, but for their friends as well, who all remember her as one of the cool, fun moms. She was immensely proud of Chase and Tess, often bragging of their accomplishments, travels, and experiences. She took great delight in the lives they built. She was also a warm and welcoming mother-in-law to Charlotte, loved her grand "fur babies," and cared deeply for her niece Brooke and nephews Cooper and Tate.

Over the years, Rona dealt with various health issues, including surgeries and long recoveries. They had recently caused her life to grow quieter, and she spent her time painting beautiful watercolors of flowers and nature. She took great joy in spoiling her little white rescue dog, Rowdy. He was her constant companion in her last years.

Rona is survived by her mother, Penny Meyer (Lloyd); children Chase Hedrick (Charlotte) and Tess Hedrick. Her siblings Lori Parks (Scott Olson) and Chad Hall (wife Kim, nephews Cooper and Tate. Niece Brooke Briggs (Randy); her aunt and best friend Molly Stainbrook; her dear pup Rowdy; and many other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father (Randy Hall) and brother (Todd Hall).
