Ronald Eugene Bass, 85, passed away peacefully Monday, October 13, 2025, at Meadow Lane Memory Care in Bad Axe.

Ron was born June 9, 1940 to Donald and Geneva Bass. Ron married Marlene McGee on August 13, 1966. Molly and Ron shared 58 years of marriage together. He retired in 1997 from Lamphere Public Schools in Madison Heights. He was a high school math teacher. He loved to sail, do wood working, enjoy the outdoors, and serve the community he lived in.

Ron is survived by his children, Brian Bass of Lapeer, Michelle (Ron) Davis of Millersburg, Michael (Shelley) Bass of Summerville, SC; grandchildren Sarah Davis, Shelby (Cheyne) Stresky, Geneva Bass, Chandler (Aubrey) Bass and Gabrielle (Tyler)Townsend; great-grandchildren Silas, Callum, Wrenley, Theodore and Baby B; many nieces and nephews and other extended family. He was preceded by his wife Marlene; his parents Donald and Geneva Bass, his in-laws Martin and Marie McGee, Martin “Dan” McGee, Edward McGee, Thomas McGee and Eileen “Idy” McGee; and his grandson, Seth Davis.

Memorial service will be 11:00am Friday, November 14th at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
