You were a ray of sunshine my friend. Was wondering why you haven't texted. I'll miss you.

Ron was my horseback riding instructor for many years. My favorite memory of him is the part he played in the purchase of my first horse. He had asked me if I would mind riding a horse he was considering purchasing, which I happily obliged. After riding the horse, Ron asked me for my thoughts, which was nothing less than a glowing review, to which he replied "good, because he´s yours."
What I didn´t know until that moment, was that my parents had worked with Ron and devised a plan to make me fall in love with a beautiful American Paint horse that would become mine.
He enjoyed surprising people like that.
Ron, Dustin (my horse), and I then spent many days, hours, weeks, months, and years training and going to shows.
It was a special time in my life, and Ron was a big part of it.

Ron was an 18 year old freshman that walked into my beginner horsemanship class, with hair down to his shoulders, at the community college. Guess he was looking for a PE credit and decided to try the class. He joined the equestrian team and became a very good walk-trot contestant except when he trotted into the Walk Trot National Championship Class in Virginia. Breaking the rule did not go well with the judge. He went on to persuade the Dean to offer an Intermediate class at the college. He later moved on to work for Claire Harris at Fox Heath stables and eventually have a business of his own. I lost track of Ron over the years but did go to say goodbye at the Doylestown Hospital 3 days before he died. Hopefully he will finally find peace. Dee Jones
