Ronald Boeding Obituary
He was born on March 11, 1944 in Fort Madison, IA to Louis and Dorothea Wilbert Boeding. He married Jean Ann Reis Vogel on May 16, 1992 in Montrose. He owned and managed Ron's Supermarket in Fort Madison until he closed the store and retired in Septe. of 1999. In retirement, he worked at G.E. in Burlington, Mike Sanders Masonry and Ty's Greenhouse. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Knights of Columbus and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He enjoyed fishing, trapping, woodworking and spending time with family and at the cabin with friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Jean Boeding of West Point; three step-children: Jackie (Dave) Demler of Canton, Ill., Jenny (Ryan) Larmore of Montezuma and Joshua Vogel of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren: Faith and Ella Demler and Allyson, Kylee and Lauryn Larmore; sister-in-law Marilyn Boeding, of Wever; niece Michele (Jeff) Shaw, of Lake Villa, Ill.; nephew Chad Boeding (Kristine) of San Francisco, Calif.; two great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Syd Schultz and a brother, Roger Boeding.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church. A memorial mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Holy Family Parish. Ron was a wonderful boss and great mentor. I enjoyed working at the store and have very fond memories of Ron and all the employees there.
