Ronald Bowman passed away peacefully at his home in
Muskogee, Oklahoma, on September 25, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by his family. Born on October 8, 1933, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, Ronald was the second of five children of Lloyd and Jamie Holcombe Bowman. He grew up in Wagoner and attended Wagoner Public Schools, remaining a proud Wagoner Bulldog throughout his life. Even into his late 80s, he attended several championship games to support his alma mater. Ronald served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War, enlisting on June 22, 1951, and receiving his honorable discharge in 1954. Following his service, he pursued higher education at Northeastern State University. Balancing work and studies, he drove a truck for Montgomery Trucking by day and attended classes at night, completing his bachelor's degree in just two and a half years. On May 1, 1954, Ronald married Marion Montgomery in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Their marriage spanned 68 years and was blessed with three children: Kay, Paula, and Ronda. His family remained the center of his world. Ronald built a distinguished career in banking that lasted over forty years. Outside of work, he was an avid golfer who found joy on the course with friends and family. A man of deep faith, Ronald was a devoted member of Grace Episcopal Church in Muskogee. He was also active in the Royal Order of Jesters, the Masonic Lodge, and the Bedouin Shrine Temple. Ronald's legacy lives on through the love he shared and the values he instilled. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ronald is now reunited with his parents, Lloyd and Jamie Bowman; his wife, A. Marion Montgomery; his brothers, James Bowman and Alfred Bowman; and his daughter, Kay Bowman. Ronald is lovingly survived by his daughters, Paula Morgan and husband Steve and Ronda Engelbrecht and husband John, all of
Muskogee, Oklahoma; sisters, Donna LeBlanc and husband Bob of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; brother, Paul Bowman of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Loy Bowman of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ryan Hilton and wife Beth of Savannah, Georgia, Jacob Hilton and wife Christine of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tyler Winkle and wife Allie of Bixby, Oklahoma, Gatlin Morgan of
Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ashley Morgan of
Muskogee, Oklahoma, Alex Baker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carson Baker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, April Smith and husband Jacob of Bixby, Oklahoma, Chandler Engelbrecht and wife Savannah of Moore, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Jake Hilton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kole Hilton of Cedar Park, Utah, Max Hilton of Savannah, Georgia, and Kai Baker-Engelbrecht of
Muskogee, Oklahoma; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; extended family; and many friends. Ronald's life will be celebrated 10AM, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Grace Episcopal Church in Muskogee with Father Omar Cisneros and Ronald's nephew, Steve Taylor, officiating. Committal prayers and inurnment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
