Ronald Brunnen passed away at home after a short illness on September 29, 2025, with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law by his side. He was 93 years old.
Born May 2, 1932, on Long Island, New York, he served with the Army in Korea.
He married his high school sweetheart, Edna, and followed in his Dad's footsteps into the second-generation carpentry business.
A lifetime sailor, Ron and family sailed their home built 33-foot ketch the Tangaroa around Long Island, to Florida, and the Virgin Islands. Ron and Edna spent 13 years on a small island off the coast of Puerto Rico and established Vieques Yaughts, building fiberglass boats.
A lifetime sailor, avid reader, and cabinet maker, Ron and Edna settled in Arapahoe, North Carolina where there are more boats than people!
Ron is survived by his wife, Edna; son, Bruce and wife, Roseann; daughters, Lori and Debra and husband, Mike; as well as numerous grandchildren.
