Ronald James Bussie

Ronald "Ron" James Bussie, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Aperion Care Arbors at Michigan City.
Ron was born on October 29, 1944 in La porte, IN, to James Bussie and Yvonne (Ullery) Bussie-Knowlton.
On June 30, 1979 in Fish Lake, IN, he married Barbara Flores, who survives. Also surviving are his 2 sons, Joel Bussie of La Porte, IN and James Bussie of Ligonier, IN; 4 grandchildren, Andrew Bussie of La Porte, IN, Zachery Bussie of Toledo, OH, Erin Bussie-Wagoner of Syracuse, IN and Steven Bussie of Albion, IN; 2 great-grandsons of Syracuse and Albion, IN; sister, Sharon Jertberg of Gainesville, FL; brothers, Gregg Brooks of Long Beach, CA and Michael Brewster of Bass Lake, IN; sister, Ann Ringler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Bussie and Yvonne Bussie-Knowlton; brothers, Doug Bussie and David Brooks; and daughter-in-law, Lauren Bussie.
Ron was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, honorably discharged in 1966.
Ron enjoyed hunting and gardening, always sharing his overflow with others. He was a man of God. He loved the Lord and the Word of God. Ron will be fondly remembered for being a man of prayer that dearly loved his family. "He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, he kept the faith". (ref. 2 Timothy 4:7)
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place at a later date.
