Ronald Odell Cantrell

Ronald Odell Cantrell, age 77, of Patterson, Virginia, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Welch, West Virginia and was the son of the late Burley Cantrell and Margie Cooper Cantrell.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Brown; brothers, Hurtle Cantrell; and two infant sisters and one infant brother.

Six Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren also survive.

Special Care Givers: Tavia Stiltner Tiffany "His Nurse and Buddy" Turner, Becky Casey, nurses and staff of Legacy Hospice and Palliative Care; and Nurse Practitioners, Sara Ellis and Ashleigh Frazier.

Funeral services for Ronald Cantrell will be conducted Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 12pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Charlie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at the Cooper Family Cemetery on Pea Patch. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Members of Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military rites. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
