BEVERLY - Mr. Ronald James Carnevale of Beverly died August 10, 2025, one week before his 70th birthday.

The following obituary was written by his son Jason:

My father went by many names throughout his life. Firstly was "Ronald James Carnevale," the name given to him by his mother, Pauline (Hatch) Carnevale Georgandis, and father, Rudolph "Rudy" Carnevale.

Throughout his early childhood, his three siblings - Dick, Diane and David - would call him "Ronnie," as did his stepfather Jack and step siblings Steve and Judy.

In his middle and high school years, he was very active with the Beverly Y and became "Trailblazer Ron" at summer camp, leading groups on week-long hikes through the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

I heard that some of his friends called him "Mad Dog Ron" in his high school days. I guess everyone has a wild side.

Then came his college years at Northeastern University, where he got his degree in criminal justice.

He was quite the adventurous guy, even living in a different country (Canada), where he met my mother, Catherine Marie (Robicheau) Carnevale. When they married, he became "Ron&Cathy;" one word and always in that order. My parents spent a few years together in Nova Scotia with her parents, Vincent and Margaret Robicheau, and her little sister Gail.

After they tied the knot, I was born and given the name Jason Alexander Carnevale, and my father's name changed once again - to "Dad." The new parents moved us back to the United States, where we planted our roots in Beverly, my father's hometown.

He worked as a carpenter for his younger brother David for a good portion of his career, and then became an electrician for John Essery. Dad got me my job as an electrician with John, and set me on a very bright career path when I was a young and lost kid. I had the gift of working with my father for about 20 years. Every day was a blessing, even the bad days.

In the middle of his working career my father's name changed once again, to "Papa," when I called him to let him know I was becoming a father as well, with my first-born Gianna Noelle Carnevale. I met my wife Kristina Marie Carnevale and she had the pleasure of calling him "Dad," just like me. Our three boys - Ricky, Angel and Jaxon - loved their "Papa" just as much as their sister Gigi.

Dad's love of cooking highlighted another name, with all the family (and friends) coming to "Uncle Ronnie's house" for Thanksgiving for more than 30 years. As much as Dad loved to experiment with new recipes, his traditional Thanksgiving turkey was perfect every year.

As we all sit here with our beloved Ron and remember all the many names he went by and the tales he lived, we now can feel peace knowing he is passing on to the Hall of Legends, where I hope to one day have the privilege of joining him.

Ronald James Carnevale is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine (Robicheau) Carnevale; their son, Jason Carnevale of Beverly and his wife, Kristina, and their children, Gianna, Ricky, Angel and Jaxon; brother, Richard Carnevale and his wife, Jeanne of Springfield; brother, David Carnevale and his wife, Sheri and their sons, Ryan and Devin of Beverly and Brendan of California; sister, Diane Carnevale and her husband, Dan Ryan of Hamilton; step-sister, Judith Troncoso of Danvers; and step-brother, Steven Georgandis of Florida. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Pauline (Hatch) Carnevale Georgandis, father, Rudolph Carnevale, step-father, John Georgandis, brother in-law, Dr. Eudaldo Troncoso and nephew, Stephen Troncoso.
