Ronald F. Catoggio, age 80, of Mahwah, formerly of North Bergen and Leonia, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Born in New York City, he was a Housing Inspector for the New Jersey State Housing Authority. Previously, he worked for General Motors before starting his own family run heating oil business, JARR Fuel, of New York City. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he saw combat for one year. He was a former parishioner of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Leonia, New Jersey. He was proud of his high school days where he played varsity football and was President of the Student Council for North Bergen High School. Ronald was the first in his family to graduate college and graduated John J. Pershing College of Nebraska with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He loved to travel and take his family on vacations around the world. He loved to cook, the Jersey Shore, and the New York Yankees.
Beloved husband of 54 years to the late Anne Catoggio (nee: Parisi). Devoted father of Vincent Catoggio and Lisa Ferrone. He loved his sons-in-law, Anthony Paradiso and Brian Ferrone, as if they were his own. Cherished grandpa of Jonathan and Adrianna. Dear brother of Anthony Catoggio, his wife Lillian, and sister-in-law Connie Manfredonia. Pre-deceased by his siblings Richard Catoggio, Joyce Aiello and his brother-in-law Louis Manfredonia.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the Frank Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Steet, Fort Lee. The funeral will leave on Thursday at 10:30 am for the celebration of his funeral mass in St. John's Roman Catholic Church at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Garden of Memories. If desired, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors. For further information call (201) 944-0100.
