Ronald Lee Catton, passed away peacefully on the 4th of July, 2025, at the age of 82, in Largo, Florida. Born on February 22, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Ron was the beloved husband of Katharine Catton and a devoted father to Craig (Sheris) Catton. He was a cherished grandfather to Claire, Gianna, Adrian, and Ava. He now joins his late parents, Vern and Fannie (Fran) Catton, and his brother Donald in eternal rest. He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Kathy) Catton, and sister, Rebecca Kerner.
Ron was a proud alumnus of Murray State University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. His education paved the way for a distinguished career at Caterpillar, where he dedicated 35 years of service. Starting in tax accounting, Ron's exceptional skills and unwavering work ethic led him to rise through the ranks, culminating in his role as a Director for Caterpillar Mexico. His professional achievements stand as a testament to his expertise and dedication.
A man of deep faith, Ron was an active member of the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Bradenton, FL, where he served with humility and devotion. His Christian beliefs were the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and interactions with those around him. Ron's commitment to his faith was evident through his involvement with St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus, organizations through which he contributed generously to his community. His friendly demeanor made him a favorite among his peers, and his generous nature ensured he was always surrounded by friends.
Ron Catton will be remembered as a friendly, generous, and faith-filled man. He touched the lives of many with his warm smile and kind heart. His unwavering support for his family, his commitment to his work, and his dedication to his community left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass for Ron will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church on Friday, October 17th, 2025 at 10:30AM. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
