Ronald Eugene Cava, 80, of Holts Summit, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born on August 16, 1942 in Peekskill, New York; a son of the late Angelo and Dorothy (Lockwood) Cava. He was united in marriage to Lynn Scott on July 1, 1995 in Fishkill, New York, who survives.
Ron was a graduate of Lakeland High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. For his entire working career, Ron worked in the law enforcement industry. He was a security officer for several businesses, and took pride in keeping his community safe. He was a member of Knights of Columbus at both St. Andrews and Jefferson City. Ron enjoyed "crabbin'" and taking Lynn to garage sales. He was known as "The Executioner" for his radio handle, and enjoyed his time on his CB. He was also an amateur radio operator, with the call sign of "KA2PDS". He also was a collector of radios, and proudly displayed them wall to wall in his home. He loved to listen to Elvis Presley and Barry White; including taking trips to Graceland. He had a deep respect for Native American culture, and collected pieces of their jewelry and art.
He is survived by his loving wife: Lynn; children: Ronald Cava of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Patricia Cava of Kissimmee, Florida, Cara Cava of Poughkeepsie, New York, Gianina Cava of Beacon, New York, and Michelle Allred of Ellendale, Delaware; as well as numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Angelo and Dorothy.
Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. A memorial mass will follow at 10:00 a.m with Fr. Roberto M. Ike officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
