Ronald M. Chabala

Ronald M. Chabala, 87, of Perth Amboy, passed away on September 20, 2025, at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick. He was born in Perth Amboy on August 22, 1938. Ronald served in the US Air Force and was a volunteer for the Perth Amboy Fire Police Department, Hook & Ladder #1. Ronald was employed by the Perth Amboy Board of Education as a Custodian at Flynn School for 15 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and a member of the St. George Catholic Club. Ronald was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed fishing and traveling to Maine.
He is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Nancy Chabala, of Perth Amboy; a son, Ronald J. Chabala, and his wife, Luisa, of Woodbridge, two daughters, Jill Peace, and her husband, Paul, of Toms River and Karen Anderson, of Edison; six grandchildren: Matthew, Shawn, and his wife, Sarah, Nicole, Amy, Rhiannon, and Krystyne; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Shawn. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Zudonyi, of Edison.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will begin on Friday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 Funeral Liturgy at Holy Rosary Church. Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald's name may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or the North Shore Animal League.
