David M. Chabala, born May 14, 1990, in Zambia, passed away on June 26, 2023, in Cartersville. Known for his generosity, loving nature, and infectious humor, David was a beacon of light to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the company of his beloved family and friends.
David was a dedicated husband to Vanessa Godinez, and a doting father to his children, William Mendoza, Madelyn Chabala, and David "Junior" Chabala. He was the cherished son of Trudy and Jim Jarrard, and a loving brother to John Jarrard, Sarah Tate Edmonds, and James Jarrard. David was also a beloved grandson to Gladys Chabala, a respected son-in-law to Eduwiges Godinez, and a treasured nephew to Charity Chabala and Osward Chilambwe. He also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends who will miss him dearly.
David Chabala's work ethic was unparalleled. From humble beginnings David earned the position of store leader for a local company. He was well respected by his peers and customers who enjoyed a genuine personal relationship with him. David always made time for his family and friends.
His playful nature and love for laughter were infectious, filling every room he entered with joy and warmth. He was an avid sportsman who loved running, soccer, and football. A natural athlete, David's love for sports was more than just a hobby, it was a testament to his determination, discipline, and team spirit.
David's love for his family was paramount, and he was a pillar of strength and support. He was the kind of man who made every moment count, and his love and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the lives of his children and everyone he has touched.
David M. Chabala will always be remembered as a lovingly stubborn man of great character, who lived his life with passion, love, and a zest for life that was contagious. His memory will forever be a beacon of love, laughter, and courage, inspiring all who knew him to live their lives to the fullest, just as he did. His departure has left a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who loved him.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken May officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family for the benefit of his children.

I worked with David Chabala and he was a great person. A great manager, where every morning he was the happiest person to greet you. I will miss him so much, I worked with him in our old Krogers where he always gave me some hugs, and when I transferred, he’ll always come to buy somethings at my new store, I always ask him “ How are you doing? How’s the family? “ every time he was buying diapers and wipes for his kids. Rest in peace, sending a prayer for the family as well.

Heartfelt condolences to David's family and friends. Without knowing him well, his warmth, smile, kindness and laughter, during the times our paths at work would cross here and there over the years, are warmly remembered. Love and prayers to his family during this difficult time.

This is such a shock especially for someone that loved to show pictures of his kids and the spur of the moment things he would do for them. You were my manager for a solid one year we transferred to district 9 together on the same day. I even appreciated your call when you needed help for your standards walk and it seems ironic I called you on accident thinking you were my cousin David who lost his father a month prior. If the Holy Spirit had of talked to me I definitely would have talked to you a little longer. Your OCD will be greatly missed as annoying as it was, but you had 467 looking good and had a great team behind you. Rest easy Chabala you will be greatly missed by many. Your wife and children are in our prayers
