Ronald "Oscar" D. Chesney, Sr., of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025. Oscar was born on August 27, 1947, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and was the son of Bruce and Pauline (Cardwell) Chesney. A 1965 graduate of Bedford High School, he then served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Oscar then received his Associates degree from Monroe County Community College. He married Susan Rzeppa on April 4, 1969. Oscar was employed as a heavy equipment operator, working out of the Operaters Engineering Local 324, Detroit, where he was a member since 1970. He was the former owner and operator of Oscar's Road House in Lambertville, Michigan. Oscar was a life member and past Commander of the American Legion, 514, in Ida, Michigan, and Life member of the VFW, 9656, Lambertville, Michigan. He was an active coach while his sons played 3B baseball for 8 years

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children, Ronald Chesney, Jr., Christy Chesney, and Mike Chesney; brothers, Vern (Leslie) Chesney, and Kevin Chesney; sisters, Carol (Gaspare) Pirrone and Karen Chesney; grandchildren, Steven Sullivan, Devan Chesney, and Brenen Bowers; great grandchildren, Easton, J, Gunnar, Teagan, Joe, Stella, and Bowen.

A gathering will be from 2-5 pm, Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the American Legion, 514, 11601 Lewis Ave, Temperance, MI 48182. Arrangements by the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, Temperance, Michigan. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
