Ronald Cornwell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory - West Odessa on Dec. 3, 2025.
Ronald Cornwell, known affectionately by friends and family as "Cornbread," left this world peacefully due to natural causes on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 63, in Odessa, TX. Born on Sunday, July 3, 1962, in Seminole, TX, Ronald's life was a tapestry of heartfelt memories and enduring relationships, woven through the years with love, laughter, and genuine camaraderie.
Throughout his life, Ronald dedicated himself to hard work, initially as a roustabout, devoting his time to operation of the oil and gas industry. Later in life he ran his own landscaping business.
In Ronald's leisure time, his passion for the Dallas Cowboys was nearly as legendary as his amiable personality. However, it was around the pool table that Ronald really shined. He enjoyed a good competitive game with his friends.
Ronald's legacy is lovingly cherished by family members who survive him: his beloved daughters Jessica Lewis and spouse; Jeannie Mitchell and spouse; his stepdaughter, Makinzi Brown; his devoted sisters, Freda Daniels, Tammy Helton, and LeAnn Pena; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ronald is preceded in death by his dear mother, Barbara Ann Smith; his father, George Cornwell; his son Ronald Cornwell Jr with whom he is now reunited.
While his presence will be deeply missed, the stories, laughter, and shenanigans he shared will continue to echo into the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Ronald "Cornbread" Cornwell leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and the importance of relishing life's simple pleasures. He lived fully, loved deeply, and will be remembered with a smile that reflects the light he brought into the world.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for 'Cornbread' at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent online to the family at acreswestfuneral.com.
