Ronald A. Danes, age 83, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on November 15, 2024. He was born to the late John and Elizabeth Marie (Papuga) Danes on February 28, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio. Ronald was a steel worker for many years at Republic Steel/LTV Steel. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hiking and fishing. Ronald was known for always feeding the birds. He loved Corvettes and had traveled across the country twice on Route 66. Ronald was a long time Playhouse Square donor and member of the Cleveland Metropark Zoo.
Family events were always special to him, especially his semi-annual trips to Radells for sausage during Easter and Christmas with his wife. He loved stopping by Slyman for a corned beef reuben on the way home. Followed by making pierogies together for the holidays.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Judith (Blankschaen) Danes; his children, Nicolette Barth, Danielle Clinton, Stephanie Phillip, and Ronald A. Danes, Jr.; his grandchildren, Trisha Barth, Alicia Vetovitz (Sean), Suzanne Boyer (Chris), Kristina Sutton (James), Isaiah Castro, and Jessica Glover; and his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jaymeson, Emmalee, Max, Braxden, Kaleah, and Roy. He is preceded by his son, Christopher Danes.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 3100 Old Weymouth Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made in Ronald's name to Medina County SPCA, 8790 Guilford Rd., Seville, OH 44273, or online at medinacountyspca.com/donate
