Ronald H. Dera

Ronald Harry Dera, of Clinton Township, passed peacefully on July 25, 2021. Ron was born to Harry and Lucille (Brichel) Dera, in Mt. Clemens on July 1, 1933. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert "Bob" Dera and Gertrude Kratchoff, and his one great love, and wife of 62 years, Geraldine Grace Dera (Helzer). Together, Ron and Geri created a beautiful family, consisting of their three children, Ronald H. Dera II, Linda (Joe) Eterno, and Denny (Jen) Dera. Those children kept them busy later in life with their nine grandchildren; Aprille Cook, Eric (Ashleigh) Dera, Jaime Cesaro, Lisa Cesaro, Ethan Dera, Dylan Dera, Shelby Dera, Peyton Dera and Kimberly Dera.
Ron not only enjoyed his family but had a great love for cars, his beautiful pond and traveling around seeing the amazing beaches in Michigan. In his younger years, Ron, along with his brother, Bob, was a founding member of Bearing Burners Auto Club, which his son Denny, and Grandson Dylan, are current proud members of.
Ron always found much joy in watching his grandchildren participate in the music arts and had a strong love for the jazz band in particular. In memory of Ron, the family asks that contributions be made to L'Anse Creuse High School Band Boosters. PO Box 1145, Mt. Clemens, MI 48046
