Ronald Dernick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simply Cremation & Funeral Arrangements - Surprise from Sep. 12 to Sep. 13, 2022.
Ron Dernick, born December 26, 1949, died peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours of Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Ron was raised in Chicago, Illinois by his mother Barbara and father Richard. He and his three brothers Don, Rick, and Brian were the definition of a handful for their parents and even at a young age, Ron was making an impact in the neighborhood where he was raised.

Ron's life will be defined by his service to others. He used his Masters of Theology and Psychology as a Catholic Priest to spread the word of Jesus Christ and teach high school in Chicago. After leaving the priest hood, he married the love of his life, Lori Jozaites, who provided support as he continued his service to others as a high school teacher and administrator for troubled youth.

Ron and Lori shared two children together, Tim and Tom Dernick. When Ron was not providing support to his students, family, and friends, he was busy shaping his children into the men they are today, helping them find their way in life.

Ron is survived by his wife Lori Dernick, his sons Tim and Tom Dernick, his daughter-in-law Carly Inglesby, and his grandchildren Joshua, Bryce-Sophia, Arlo, and Addis.

After a life of service and dedication to others, he leaves us with a sip of scotch and a toast to the man he was and the many lives he changed through his education and ministry. We know that now he has found the happiness that he brought to all his family, friends, and students throughout his life and ministry.
