SHIRLEY; Ronald E. Deyo, 89, of Shirley, died Thursday, September 18, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Deyo was born in Leominster, April 16, 1936, the son of Edward and Elsie (Smith) Deyo and has resided in Shirley for nearly thirty five years. He was a 1955 graduate of Ayer High School. Following his graduation from High School, Mr. Deyo enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served for five years. After being honorably discharged from the armed services, Ron worked briefly at Sampson Cordage in Shirley before joining Digital Equipment Corporation as a field technician in their early days where he remained for three decades. After leaving DEC he went to work in a similar capacity at Bolt Beranek and Newman in Cambridge and later the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. Ron was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Shirley. He served on the Shirley Senior Council, Shirley Sewer Committee and participated in the Shirley Memorial Day Parade where he marched with Shirley American Legion Members. He had been active in the Leominster Scouting Program as well as Casa Children's Intervention Services and Fatherhood Coalition. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Shirley Ann (Hachey) Deyo; his seven children, Keith L Deyo and his wife, Kim, of Arizona, Mark A. Deyo and his partner, Mary Lavoie, of Cape Cod, Christine E. Conner and her partner, David Douglas of Leominster, Michele DaGama and her husband, Joe of South Carolina ,Ronald E. Deyo, Jr. and his wife, Christina of Holden, Julie M. Deyo Giannunzio of Leominster, Jon Deyo and his wife,Meagan of Lunenburg; twenty three grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Wolfe of Tennessee. Ron's funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at St. Anthony's Church,1 4Pheonix Street, Shirley. Interment will follow at Center Cemetery, Shirley. Ron's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours 4-7 PM Wednesday, September 24,2025 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer.
