Sandra May Daly

Lunenburg-Sandra May (Stanner) Daly, 80, of Lunenburg passed away on Monday evening, September 15, 2025 in the Health Alliance Leominster Hospital. Sandra was born in Widnes, Lancashire, England on July 11, 1945 a daughter of the late John Henry and Beatrice Mary (Oates) Stanner. She grew up in England and was educated there earning the equivalent of an associate's degree, as well as a certificate in nursing. In her early years she worked as a nurse at the British Military Hospital, and after coming to this country worked for several years as a manager at the Army and Air Force Exchange in Devens, where she received many recognitions for her exemplary work. She has resided in Lunenburg for the past 35 years. Sandra was a creative cook and gardener and enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens. She loved her dogs and spending time outside with the birds and the animals. She was a U.S. Civil War reenactor and most of all cherished her family. She leaves her husband, Michael Daly of Lunenburg; four daughters Michelle Gentilella, Stephanie Poirier and Clair Daly all of Lunenburg, and Vivien Faulkner of Berlin; a sister Vivien Yasities in Glastonbury, England, eight grandchildren, Joshua Gentilella, Michael Gentilella, Paul LaRoche, Christopher Faulkner, Brittney Faulkner, Robert Poirier, Daniel Poirier John Poirier and Molly Poirier, seven great-grandchildren, Dominic Poirier Liam LaRoche, Jacob LaRoche, Benjamin Poirier, Henry Poirier, Caleb Gentilella, and Faye Boucher. Sandra is predeceased by her two sons Ian and Liam and her brother John. Her funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 23, at 11 AM in the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., Ayer, followed by a burial in the South Cemetery in Lunenburg.
