SHIRLEY: Richard G. Lambert, 80, of Shirley died Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025 at his residence, after a long battle with ALS. Richard was born in Leominster, July 19, 1945, a son of the late Merlyn A. and Lillian C. (Levesque) Lambert and resided much of his life in Shirley. He was a graduate of Leominster Trade High School. Following his graduation from high school Richard enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country for four years. For 20 years Richard worked as a purchasing agent at Samson Ocean Systems in Shirley before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed woodworking and antiquing. He leaves his wife of thirty six years, Sheila M. (Swift) Lambert; his son, Brett Lambert of Lunenburg; three daughters, Amy Lambert of Fitchburg, Colleen Cahill of Gilbert, AZ, Hannah McCarthy of Mooresville, NC; his brother, Kenneth Lambert of Fitchburg; his sister, Nancy Landry of Shirley; his stepson, Peter Wheeler of Shirley; eight grandchildren, Brody Lambert, Devon Lambert, James McCarthy, Finn McCarthy, Gavin McCarthy, Jazmin Floyd, Laci Floyd and Jordan Floyd all of Dawsonville, GA; one great grandson, Joshua Floyd of GA. He was predeceased by his stepson, Robert Wheeler III, his brother Raymond Lambert and his sister, Phyllis Tucker. A ceremony honoring Richard for his service to our country will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. The Anderson Funeral Home, Ayer is assisting the family with arrangements.
