Ronald Alva Ellis

Ronald Alva Ellis, 94 of Pompano Beach, Florida passed peacefully on October 18, 2025 in his home in Pompano Beach, Florida with his two children and beloved caregiver by his side.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 31, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Monsignor Putano officiating. Burial at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery will follow at 1pm on the same date. Arrangements are by the J.A. McCormack Sons funeral home.

Ronald Ellis was born in Belmont, New York to Ethyl and Frank Ellis on September 11, 1931. He attended Alfred University. He married Emilie Forsyth of Binghamton, New York on June 27, 1958 in St. Patrick's Church in Binghamton. He worked as a Display Manager, opening new stores for the JCPenney Company for 25 years. He was an avid golfer throughout his life. He and his wife, Emilie moved their family to Coral Springs, Florida in 1974 and opened a picture frame store in Tamarac, Florida. Ron spent tireless hours and many weekends with his son, Barry traveling for motocross racing all over the state. Ron also earned his pilots' license while in south Florida and relished his time flying. Ron and Emilie retired together from their frame store in 1997 and moved to St. Lucie West, Florida. Ron also worked at the PGA Golf Club for several years during his retirement time.

Ronald is preceded in death by his father, Frank, his mother, Ethyl and his wife, Emilie. He is survived by his son Barry Ellis also of Pompano Beach, Florida, his daughter Pamela Cavanagh and her husband, Thomas of Orlando, Florida and his only Grandchild, Brian Cavanagh also of Orlando.
