Ronald E. Fischer, 91 of Marinette, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning May 9, 2023. Ron was born on November 23, 1931, to the late William and Lucille (Maudrie) Fischer. Ron graduated from Marinette Senior High School in 1950. Following graduation, Ron served in the Army in the Korean War. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Settersten, on February 27, 1954. She preceded him in death in 2004.
Ron worked for Marinette Marine and then as a fireman for the Marinette Fire Department. He also worked at Sears. In 1959, Ron went to work at Thompson Boat as a Production Control Manager. In 1975, Ron became self-employed and started his own decorating business. You can see his handiwork in hundreds of homes around Marinette.
Ron loved life. His faith was his compass. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church for several decades. He taught Sunday School as well as sitting on several committees. The past several years, he was a member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee.
Ron loved his family. He enjoyed traveling with them. He would always say "I'm Ready" when asked to participate in an outing. He enjoyed going for rides, spending time with family and friends, as well as playing cards. Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
