Ronald Forge Obituary

Ronald Durwood Forge was born on April 2nd, 1957, to Doris Forge and Willie D. Forge in Mexia, TX, the youngest of seven children. When Ron was one years old, the family moved to Dallas, TX and joined Warren United Methodist Church, where his faith was established and he served in the Men's choir. He would later transfer his membership to Life Center United Methodist Church in DeSoto, TX.

Raised in a family that values education, Ron received his formal education through the Dallas Independent School District where he attended Julia C. Frazier Elementary School, Pearl C. Anderson Middle School, and Lincoln High School in Sunny South Dallas. There, Ron excelled in academics and in sports: basketball, football, and track and field. Because of Ron's leadership and athleticism, after graduating from Lincoln, he accepted a full football scholarship to Tennessee State University as the team's Quarterback. He later received his Bachelor's Degree from the university.

After college, Ron became a football free agent and was invited to the Dallas Cowboys training camp, where an injury would end his football career. With a desire for service to mankind, Ron decided to become a Firefighter with the Dallas Fire Department, where he would recount stories of heroism and saving lives. After over 20 years of noble service, Ron retired from DFD after a car accident left him paralyzed. With much prayer and physical therapy, God blessed Ron to later regain his ability to walk.

In the early 1990s, Ron and long-time girlfriend, Aline Ducky Johnson, gave birth to two sons, London and Brandon. Ron was beaming proud to be a father and raised his sons with love. In 2006, Ron married Diana Forge, who was a loving life partner for five years, until an amicable divorce. The two remained friends.

Because of Ron's outgoing personality, he made many friends throughout his lifetime, and remained close friends with his football teammates, classmates, and fellow firemen, who grew to know and love Ron's entire family. He enjoyed joking with family and friends and had a magnetic personality that appealed to others. Ron was also a sharp dresser who loved looking good, and the attention he'd get from the ladies. His favorite past times were music and all sports.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Doris Forge and Willie D. Forge; sisters, Vikki Forge and Mitzi Forge; nephews, Keenon Forge and Kyron Forge; and aunt, Ella Waters.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, London Forge and Brandon Forge; grandsons, Brandon II and Brenton; sisters, Beverly Forge, Deborah Forge (Stephen Wade), and Melonie Forge; brother, Gerry Forge; nieces, Kelli Bradford (Emeir Bradford), Korynn Forge, and Keegan Forge; nephew, Kellen Forge; great nieces and nephews, King, Kendon, Kylar, Keona and Ky'ana; Brachone Caldwell; the Bass and Mooring family; and a host of football and firemen buddies, classmates, and friends.
