Ronald Eugene (8 Ball) Golueke, 90, of Marinette, died February 24, 2025 at his home. He was born May 6, 1934 at St. Joseph Hospital in Menominee, the son of Bernice and Eugene Golueke. He lived his whole life in Marinette. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School where he graduated. Shortly after he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Minneapolis, serving for 4 years. He was recruited in San Diego for 11 weeks and sent off for a tour in other countries.
Returning home he worked for the Spray O'Bond Co. in Milwaukee but returned home and worked in carpentry for years at Kartheiser's and then for Tom Ryan. He was also a Marinette firefighter for many years and loved playing pranks on those guys. The new firefighters that never met him heard all about the jokes and pranks he pulled. They all enjoyed 8 Ball! Ron was also an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan.
He married the love of his life, Rose Schwartz Kuehnau on September 14, 1979 in Menominee. Together they raised her five children, Steve (Liz), Gayle (Terry) Lasslett, Julie Borneman, Tom Kuehnau and Wendy Kuehnau, plus Cindy (Terry) Doran, whom they claimed as their daughter. Rose passed away on October 27, 2022. They were enjoyed by their many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Ron is further survived by two sisters, Doreen (Frank) Worrell of Norfolk, VA and Donna Raygo Setunsky and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Rose, Ron was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Julie Borneman; step-son, Thomas; sister, Nancy (Wes) Krawetzke; and a brother, Richard (Dick) Golueke and his wife, Lorraine.
Visitation will be at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 4 until 6 p.m. An Honors Ceremony will be conducted at 6 p.m. by the Military 20-Year Club. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum.
