Ronald L. Grable, 83 of Orland, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Findlay, Ohio.
Ron was born on February 22, 1942 at home in Butler, Indiana to Earnest and Reatha (Isenbarger) Grable. He was a graduate of Butler High School, where he played the trumpet. After graduating from high school, Ron was hired by B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Indiana where he worked in the bead department. While at B.F. Goodrich he was a union representative and later retired after 30 years of service.
Ron honorably served eight years in the Army Reserves. When he left the Army Reserves Ron had achieved the rank of Sergeant. After retiring from B.F. Goodrich, he became part owner of Engineering Material in Butler. He was the one to call if you needed any problem fixed. Ron would take his time to figure out the problem, and he would come up with a solution.
Outside of work Ron was involved in his community. His love of all things mechanical would lead him to join the Corvette Club and after settling in Orland, Ron would attend their monthly car show, where the entire main road and VFW parking lot would be filled with cars. He served as a lay witness minister for the Orland Methodist Church. Ron was very involved with his son's lives by being a little league coach and Scout leader when they were younger and continued to support them in any way that he could. He enjoyed traveling to Texas after his retirement with the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Nan, who he now joins in the afterlife. Ron will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include:
Son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Lea Grable of Findlay, Ohio.
Son, Brent Grable of Leo.
Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Two nieces and their families and other extended family members.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nan Grable; infant son and daughter, Brian and Amy and one sister, Margie Wells.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Koenemann officiating.
