Ronald Keith "Buck" Hare passed away on June 18, 2025. He was born on April 25, 1942 in
Cumberland, MD to the late James E and Opal V Wolford Hare.
Buck was a Fort Hill High School Graduate. He was a lifelong bus driver, working for Allegany County public schools as well as County Transit. He umpired adult softball for many years. Buck was a lifetime member of the Goodfellowship club, in which he was one of the original founding members. He was a member of many other area clubs where he held several leadership positions throughout the years. Buck was an avid Fort Hill Football, Maryland, Washington Redskins and New York Yankees fan, but mostly recently was a huge Buffalo Bills fan. You could always find him talking up his grandson, Ty Johnson, whom he was very proud of. You could always count on seeing Buck at many of the local ball fields supporting his grandchildren.
Buck is survived by his six children: Tracy Johnson, Kellie Bruck, Ronald Keith Hare Jr (Lori), John Thomas "Jt" Hare (Sheila), Tanya Gomer (Curtis) and Clarence "JR" Emrick III; 13 grandchildren: Leroy "Lj", Lakeisha, & Ty Johnson, Angel Dalverny (Ricky), Stephanie Lewis (Nick), Antonia "Toni" Bruck (David), Devon Hare (Karisa), Taylor, Chase, & Kinsley Hare, Jessica Shaffer, Tiffanie Hare and Tyler Emrick; 12 great-grandchildren: Meadow, Jayla, Jensen, Julius, Amelia "Mia", Caleb. McKynna, Zander, Chloe, Maci, Julian and Jaci Jo; and his four siblings; Shirley Shipway, Stanley C Hare, George Donald "Bugs" Hare and Delores "Petey" Burley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, and lifelong partner of 37 years, Donna Emrick, Buck was predeceased by his first wife: Elizabeth Elaine Steinmetz; his siblings: John Thomas Hare (Vietnam), James Rexford Hare (Korea), William R Hare Sr, Martin Hare, Edward R. Hare, Francis "Peg" McCarthy, Cindy Lou Steinmetz, Mary V "Suzie" Raines, Ricky A Hare, and an infant sister.
Friends and Family will be received on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street,
Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a memorial service following at 1:00 P.M., with Reverend Charles Riggleman officiating. A Celebration of Buck's life will immediately follow at the Goodfellowship Club.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A. to offset expenses.
Through his generosity of organ donation with Infinite Legacy, Buck was able to enrich the lives of five people.
