Ronald E. Harwood, born on August 14, 1959, passed away in Browning, MT on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the age of 64. Ronald was born in
Sisseton, South Dakota to Florestine "Tina" Williams and Raymond A. Harwood. At the age of seven years old, Ronnie had moved to Montana to live with his dad Raymond and grandparents Robbie and Iola Harwood where he attended school in Browning, MT, and also joined the boxing club. Later when Ray and DA married, they lived in Babb, MT where he met many new cousins. At the age of 17 he decided he wanted to join the military, so he enlisted in the Army in 1976 for four years. He took a year off then enlisted in the Air Force for twelve years. While in the service he worked his way up to Staff Sargent in the Air Force. He had a total of twenty staff working with him. He assembled aircraft barriers and worked on diesel generators. He was stationed in Alaska, Georgia, and Germany, where he met and married his first wife Elizabeth. During this union they had four boys together Daniel, Ronnie Lee, Mark, and Ricky. From the four boys he had five grandchildren, Marlene and Flynn (Daniel), Marlon (Ronnie Lee), Liam (Ricky), and Viktor (Mark).
When he was discharged from the Air Force he returned home to Babb, MT for a brief time before making his way back to Sisseton where he met and married the love of his life, Dara "Windy" Ojeda Harwood. They met in June of 2000, and married June of 2001. Ronnie took to and loved unconditionally Windy's three children, John, Dean, and Ellen, as if they were his own. Ronnie and Wendy decided to adopt their daughter Kabryn when she came into their lives in 2005. Later on, in the year of 2016 his son Ronnie Ray Cruz was born. Ronnie now had seven more grandchildren, Quincy, Deion, Whitney, Zo Luca, Micheal, and Barbara Jo. Ronnie was the seventh child out of thirteen, he had nine children and twelve grandchildren with one on the way.
Ronnie worked various jobs throughout his life but a couple of them that he would love to brag about were working with the SWO Buffalo Farm and Dakota Magic Casino. At the casino he learned to run spotlight for many of the concerts. He loved the fact that he got to spotlight for headliners such as Merle Haggard, George Jones, John Fogerty, and ZZ Top. He loved playing the guitar and listening to music "The louder the better" he would say. Mechanicing and restoring old classic cars, riding bulls and horses. He loved dad jokes, getting lost in laughter and anything involving being outdoors. He loved spending time with his children along with his very special niece Linda White. Most of all he loved being with his family in both South Dakota and Montana.
He is survived by his wife Windy of
